Christmas Break

I would LOVE to know how some of you are spending your Christmas break....(besides reading of course), comment below on your favorite part of the break. So far I am having a WONDERFUL and RELAXING break with my husband and princess. For my anniversary, my husband and I traveled to New York right after the Christmas party on the last day of school. We had so much fun seeing all of the beautiful lights but we were ready to come home because we missed our Harper so much and we were ready to be back in the SOUTH.

A beautiful display right before entering the Rockefeller Center

We stayed right at Times Square, we were amazed at how busy everything was!
Rockefeller Center...the tree was breathtaking!

When we returned we had to start the Christmas shopping again and get everything on our list completed. We had such a great Christmas eve and day with our family, Harper was spoiled by everyone in our family and received so many presents she didn't want to open any at the last destination. We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends!

This was shopping and we were trying to get last minute gifts...she definitely wasn't having it!

Even through all the hustle and bustle she still managed to get a few books in.

Don't forget to post you reading so you can get a special prize when your return. ALSO don't forget I am offering an extra credit TEST grade if you bring back your log with BOTH sides completed. Make sure to tag #OESreads2015 in your pictures if you post them.
See everyone on Tuesday!

Random Act of Kindness during the HOLIDAYS

Last week Adeline went to a nursing home and played her violin. This was such a sweet and thoughtful act to do especially during the holiday season because many of these people never have anyone come and see them. I am so proud of you Adeline and I know they really enjoyed all of you coming. If you have any acts of kindness your child has participated in and would like for me to share please send me pictures! I love highlighting these precious kiddos!

Moon Phases

Recently students learned ALL about the different moon phases. Here are 2 songs that we sing in class to help us remember the phases.

Here is a video of our hand motions for the phases of the moon.

We also made phases of the moon with Oreo cookies...YUM! The students REALLY enjoyed this activity because we were able to eat them afterwards.
